Your Home Birth serves families in West Michigan

Women who choose homebirth desire a safe, natural and active birth, where they are in charge of their experience. Midwifery is dynamic in its approach, based upon an integration of knowledge that is derived from the arts and sciences and tempered by experience and research. Birthing at home, in your own environment, allows many women to be as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Midwifery is holistic by nature, combining an understanding of the social, emotional, cultural, spiritual, psychological and physical ramifications of a woman’s reproductive health experience.

Your Home Birth’s Head Midwife is Shannon Pawson, CPM.

headshotShannon Pawson is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM), credentialed through the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM).  She completed her five year apprenticeship while living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. She has been a CPM since 2004 and since moving to her hometown of Rockford Michigan – she has been serving West Michigan beginning in October 2006. She is a Breastfeeding USA Breastfeeding Counselor (BC) and volunteers for various local woman and family centered movements.
